Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World with Kids

Unofficial guide to walt disney world with kidsThe Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World with Kids is the sister guide book to the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. This guide is a bit more streamlined, at 448 pages compared to the 832 of it’s big brother. The author has removed many of the attractions and other areas of WDW, and focused the reviews on families with kids who will be visiting Walt Disney World. The problem is, that this book basically contains the same information as the larger book, but many of the helpful items have been left out.

Personally, it is an ok book, but I would rather spend a few more dollars and get all the information available, and make my own decisions on what works for my kids and my family. One other problem is that this book is not updated every year, and the information is often outdated.

The Top 5 Ways The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World with Kids Can Help You Have the Perfect Trip:

Birnbaum’s Walt Disney World

Most of the Disney guide books available are Unofficial, meaning they don’t get assistance from Disney, and aren’t endorsed by Disney. The Birnbaum’s books are the Official guides of Walt Disney World, in fact, this book is actually written and published by Disney. This is both good and bad:

The Good:

• Great, colorful images of characters, resort and rides are throughout the book, almost like a 200 page brochure
• Billed as the Inside Source
• Official Disney park maps and resort maps included in book
• Great guide to get kids excited about Walt Disney World

The Bad:

• Since they are the official guide, they can’t be impartial. Every resort, ride and restaurant are top notch, and perfect.
• Reads like a brochure, very little helpful information to help you make decisions.

The Birnbaum’s Walt Disney World is perfect if you want a quick introduction to Disney World, or have little kids you want to introduce to Disney World. If you are looking for a guidebook to give you in depth information about what is available, I would suggest you look elsewhere.

The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World by Bob Sehlinger, is considered by most to be the most honest, and the most forthright in its reviews of the resorts, rides and restaurants. If a restaurant is not very good, or a poor value, Bob will tell you the honest truth. Most ratings are based upon years of reviews by readers, so they are not based on one man’s opinion, but the opinion of hundreds of consumers, and tend to be very accurate.

The best Disney World guide book in my opinion, and the one that you should use.
